Zvone Boban was sacked by Milan in March of last year after a controversial interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, which wasn’t authorised by the ownership. The 52-year-old is ready to start again, though, with UEFA.
As reported by La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com), Boban will be appointed the Head of Football of UEFA. This is a new role that president Aleksander Ceferin created just for him, meaning he will be the right-hand man of the president.
In other words, Boban will be one of the top dogs at UEFA, having previously held an important role at FIFA. He will be in charge of the relations with leagues and clubs, which will entail the revision of the schedule or VAR management, among other things.
Boban is still in a legal battle with Milan as he feels his sacking was unfair, which the Milan court agreed on as they sentenced the Rossoneri to pay around €5m to the Croatian. However, they have appealed and thus it’s not over yet.
