While fans have often speculated how secure Stefano Pioli’s future as AC Milan head coach is, a report has emerged today suggesting results in Europe are needed.
According to what was stated by La Repubblica (via SempreMilan.it), the poor recent results suffered by Milan have raised doubts regarding Pioli’s future in the dugout. What aroused greater criticism, in addition to the results, was the team’s attitude in crucial matches such as those against Juventus, PSG and Napoli.
Furthermore, the atmosphere in the dressing room – which has always been the pride of Pioli’s management – seems to have deteriorated as demonstrated by Davide Calabria’s words post-PSG and by the angry reactions of Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud when they were taken off last night.
The paper speaks of a possible crossroads as soon as the end of the Champions League group stage: if the Rossoneri do not qualify for the knockout phase then Pioli’s position might well come into question.
I’ve got a real hard time beleaving anything regarding the club due to its owners gerry/elliott but lets say they do get rid who’s next a top quality coach or another yes man with questionable talent .
My money is on ibra plus one of the current coaching staff meaning nothing will change if anything it’s only going to get worse .
RDZ as a former rossonero would be great. I thought we couldn’t afford him from EPL but if Brighton stay mid table then not sure he’ll be afford the role at a super rich club (City, Chelsea, United etc) in which case there’s a chance we could get him.
Milan need a coach who can take us to the next level. We cannot afford to take a step back. If Pioli goes then Milan must upgrade on the right coach. Someone like Hansi Flick who has won the Champions League and treble with Bayern Munich. He’s currently a free agent.
