Repubblica: Coppa Italia could be played in July and August – depends on Milan

By Isak Möller -

Football has been brought to a halt due to the Coronavirus emergency, with many wondering if there will be room to resume the season. The current play is to do so in May, finishing the campaign in the summer.

However, depending on the situation, this might not be possible. In any case, a date will also have to be found for the Coppa Italia. The second legs of the semi-finals are yet to be played and then, of course, the final.

With Milan and Napoli still in the competition, the hypothesis of moving it to September doesn’t work. Winning the trophy guarantees a spot in the Europa League, and although Inter and Juve have already secured theirs (UCL), it’s not the same for the other two.

As reported by La Repubblica (via Milanlive.it), therefore, it’s possible that semi-finals will take place in July and then the final in August. Should Inter and Juve advance, then the final could take place in September.
