Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis actually offered his players money at half time as a bonus for turning the game around against AC Milan, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Repubblica (via Milan News), De Laurentiis headed down to the Napoli dressing room at half time of the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night to give his team an incentive.
They were 2-0 down to Milan at this stage with Giroud having headed in twice. The Rossoneri were in full control and the situation looked bleak for Rudi Garcia’s team.
Whilst the amount of money is not clear, De Laurentiis’ incentive seemed to have an effect as Napoli played much better in the second half and managed to secure a 2-2 draw with goals from Matteo Politano and Giacomo Raspadori.
Napoli also nearly won the game which a late chance for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but Mike Maignan made the save.
It will be easy to offer pioli that money than to Napoli players
Lol.. U made my day
What a joke – money in the boots?! Although honestly, I don’t know how they survive on the paltry sums they are paid…
