Repubblica: Elliott left angered by latest Arnault rumours – their strategy outlined

By Isak Möller -

The future of AC Milan remains unknown in so many ways. Ralf Rangnick is expected to replace Stefano Pioli for next season, while rumours of a potential takeover continue to make the headlines.

Yesterday, La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com) reported that Bernard Arnault is very interested in buying the club from Elliott Management. There was even talk of a possible meeting between the parties to discuss the operation.

However, the rumours have angered Elliott, per today’s edition of the newspaper (via Milanlive.it). The Singer family doesn’t appreciate this type of news and mainly because nothing will happen in the short term.

Before they have obtained the final green light for the new stadium project, as well as settled the balance sheet a bit, it will be difficult for Elliott to sell Milan. Sooner or later, though, they will part ways with the club.

The balance sheet for the 2019/20 season will be closed at around -€100m, which is better than the -€146m last year. For next season, the aim will be to reduce the wage bill and increase revenue.
