Paulo Fonseca made some bold starting eleven choices for AC Milan’s game against Udinese and as highlighted by a newspaper, he proved to be right. The Rossoneri’s heart is beating strongly even in adversity, which isn’t a given.

Despite playing with ten men from the 29th minute, when Tijjani Reijnders was sent off, Milan deserved to come away with all three points against Udinese. They played like a team, more so than the away side, and even could have scored another goal.

As highlighted by today’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews) states that Milan’s heart beats strongly, even in the face of adversity. It was a crucial win given the ‘tour de force’ that November brings, between Serie A and Champions League commitments.

The ability to perform in difficulty is by no means a given, as we have seen before this season, but perhaps the game against Udinese can be a turning point. Paulo Fonseca stood by his pre-match words and made some bold decisions, benching Rafael Leao, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori.

It was indeed a strong signal, confirming the fact that Milan comes before everything and everyone. No one is untouchable, and just like the derby, Fonseca was proved right in the end and the hope is that the first win can be clinched in the Champions League on Tuesday as well.

  1. Milan barely beat Udinese. And defended for that long, which is unacceptable for Milan at San Siro. Even with 10 players, it was against Udinese. What was right? Conte will fight for the title as it seems and Fonseca will lead us to CL qualification.

    1. Juventus narrowly won by an own goal from a red carded team ,napoli narrowly won and u think we can’t stand side by side this teams ?we can do better the season is still early

    2. Udinese was placed 5th and ahead of us before this game. They are no pushovers (for example, they beat Lazio 2-1 and did score 2 goals on Inter). We completely dominated them until the 29th minute when Tijani was unfairly red-carded. We played 73 minutes with a man down and still kept the win and the clean sheet. What exactly are you complaining about??? Do you think we should not have defended, being a man down? Not to forget, even with a man down and defending, we still created some great scoring opportunities.

This was arguably Milan’s second best performance of the year (only behind the Derby).

I think we’d have won 3-0 without the unfair red card. We played with 10 men against 12 men (the Udinese XI + the ref).

Did you actually watch the game, or are you just reacting with some sort of prejudicial view? Because nobody who actually watched the game can fail to see that we played well.

  2. Yes,I foresee a huge first win on Tuesday night in UCL, the team are motivated to do well now, but must keep the momentum going without any lapses in concentration, credit to Fonseca for taking bold decision to mark his stamp on the team..Morata is an example to follow, really works so hard all the time..Forza Milan

    1. Who, the youngsters who are 19th out of 20 teams in their Serie C group, and just lost to the 20th placed team 1-3? Those youngsters? What makes you think that if they are doing terribly in Serie C, they will be any good in Serie A?

The youngsters are most definitely not ready, as shown by how they can’t compete with grown men in Serie C. They need a lot of muscle development and experience. That’s why they are with Futuro in Serie C.

The last time we brought a Futuro player to play with the first team, he naively got himself expelled five minutes later.

Camarda hasn’t scored a single goal from open play yet in Serie C. Do you expect him to be a world beater in Serie A?
