Repubblica: Maldini begins talks with entourage of star Lazio playmaker – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to be serious about their pursuit of Lazio playmaker Luis Alberto having made enquiries, according to a report.

The newspaper La Repubblica (via MilanLive) claims that Milan have started negotiations for the Spaniard, but the operation is very complicated.

The player seems to have fallen out with the club and could therefore leave in the January window, but Claudio Lotito has set a high asking price and for Milan it is difficult to imagine a large investment in the winter window.

It seems more conceivable that a serious assault could arrive at the end of the season, when Milan will know if they can count on Champions League revenues to invest.

Luis Alberto is a player held in high esteem by directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, who have held talks with his agency YouFirst Sports. The deal is difficult in the short term, as Lazio will not make discounts.
