Repubblica: Maldini to remain but Gazidis and Massara are under scrutiny from Elliott

By Oliver Fisher -

Several of AC Milan’s management are under observation from ownership Elliott Management Corporation, according to a report.

To call the past couple of weeks chaotic for the club would be an understatement. After months of speculation suggesting that Ralf Rangnick was arriving to embark on yet another revolution at the end of the current season, the Rossoneri decided to U-turn and hand current boss Stefano Pioli a contract extension instead.

Now, the focus shifts to what will happen with a number of star players like Ibrahimovic, Donnarumma and Calhanoglu – all on contracts which expire in the next 12 months – and the management that will continue to lead the club.

According to reports from La Repubblica (via MilanNews), technical director Paolo Maldini looks set to remain, but sporting director Frederic Massara’s position is in the balance.

In addition, the outlet reports that CEO Ivan Gazidis is also under scrutiny from owners Elliott, and the next season will be decisive for his future, as well as that of the various managers of the commercial area. As a result of the aforementioned, his right-hand man Hendrik Almstadt’s future remains uncertain too.
