AC Milan are hoping to finally construct a new stadium in San Donato and more details continue to emerge regarding the plans they have for the area, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via PianetaMilan) talks about the possible cost of the new Milan stadium. SportLifeCity – the owner of the San Francesco area in San Donato – presented a first version of the master plan to the Council of San Donato in which the costs are also estimated.

Specifically, we read, the stadium would cost a total of €451m while the entire operation, also considering the surrounding buildings would reach almost €1bn, more specifically €948,857,000.

In the law document: “A preliminary indication of the cost of the construction intervention. The estimate was conducted using a series of cost indices determined by drawing preliminarily from the ‘Regional Price List of Public Works 2023-Lombardy’ and on the basis of similar interventions already completed or in the process of being planned/built at a national level.”

In other words, they have estimated the costs of the project based on other similar projects that have been started or have already been built in Italy.

Yesterday, La Repubblica also reported other details: the Rossoneri club seems intent on creating a real entertainment centre with the entire site put on a ‘podium’. This is a district in which several buildings will be built for various uses such as hotels, museums and offices.

Four buildings are planned above all: the new AC Milan headquarters, a new club museum, a club shop and a hotel with around 200 rooms. On the ground floor of these buildings will be 4,100m² of shops and restaurants with a view of the stadium.
