Repubblica: Conte still holds Milan intrigue despite Bayern Munich’s attempts

By Oliver Fisher -

Bayern Munich have made another attempt to convince Antonio Conte to join at the end of the season but it remains ‘difficult’ for them to do so, a report claims.

It has already been confirmed that Bayern will have a new head coach ahead of next season as Tuchel will leave the club. As it stands they are well behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga table and out of the DFB-Pokal, leaving just the Champions League as a target.

According to La Repubblica, Conte – who has been out of action for a year now after the end of his experience at Spurs – wants to return to coaching, but his main target is to get a job Serie A.

In the next few weeks, Bayern will present a significant offer to the former Inter head coach, one that he will reflect on and evaluate despite holding a desire to return to coaching in Italy.

Taking command of a post-Tuchel Bayern remains a stimulating challenge, but the possible vacancies of Juve – who however seem to be oriented towards Thiago Motta – and Milan are the ones that pique Conte’s imagination.

The German club are also working on alternatives such as Roberto De Zerbi who is ready for a top club but is also wanted by Liverpool, as well as Rúben Amorim of Sporting CP and Sebastian Hoeness of Stuttgart.

  1. Bayern’s management has made a lot of bonehead mistakes in the last few years with transfers and coaches and now they are trying to replace the German Conte with the original Conte. I read somewhere that they are even thinking about Mourinho. If you add Simeone to that group, you’ll end up with the Mount Rushmore of negative football coaches.

  2. Good, let him go tuen bayern into an expensive circus. Not us. We need someone who will stop parking the bus and get the best out of our attack heavy team

    1. If not De zerbi, I also believe that Sarri would be the second best realistic option. Lazio is such an overrated team all there players are either old or just below average. Getting them to second place last season was an overachievement. While they should have picked up more points this season I do not think that he should be blamed but only time will tell.

  3. ^^^ Exactly. Would be beautiful to see Sarri at Milan, although it will take him quite some time to implement his Sarriball at Milan and the club/fans would need to be patient. But I would take Sarri over Conte any day of the week.

Conte is stubborn and undiplomatic, it happened at every club he’s been to, like Mourinho he will create chaos and leave a trail of bodies behind him.. furthermore his football is quite terrible actually and never suits Milan.

We have a good squad capable of playing good competitive football. If Pioli leaves, there a lot of interesting options: Sarri, De Zerbi even someone like Dionisi.

  4. I think conte hold personal ambition to win Scudettos with serie A big3. Might be good for short term, but definitely won’t be sustainable for the long run.

  5. After De Zerbi, Sarri is the most realistic option. I do believe under Sarri Milan could play some nice football. He could be a long term solution my only concern would be that he doesn’t seem a person who gets along with his players and that does have a big impact on the teams performance. What makes Klopp a perfect manager isnt only his tactics but the way he treats his player he is a manger and a father figure at the same time.

  6. I hope he (Conte)never come to Ac,he is not worth to train any player that is in Milan jersey..i was in the stands when we won against him with Tatarusano- a goalkeeper who cant shoot the ball above the center
