Repubblica: Milan could exercise clause as Pioli’s contract will expire next summer

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan secured their fifth win of the season this afternoon as they beat Spezia by two goals to one away from home. As a result, they are now at 16 points after six games and Stefano Pioli deserves a lot of credit.

The Rossoneri have struggled with many injuries lately, on a few key players as well, but Pioli has managed to keep things rolling. Apart from the draw away at Juventus, they have come away with three points every time.

As reported by today’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews), Milan are thinking about the future as Pioli’s contract will expire in 2022. So far, we have heard many words of praise from the owners and the management, who are very happy with Pioli.

However, a meeting is yet to be scheduled to discuss the matter. In any case, Milan will most likely exercise the one-year renewal clause in Pioli’s contract, which must be activated by the end of the year or at the beginning of 2022 at the latest.
