Repubblica: Milan reach agreement with Lazio winger ahead of possible free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have found an agreement in principle with Luka Romero ahead of a potential free transfer and must now make a decision, a report claims.

According to what La Repubblica (via MilanNews) are reporting this morning, Milan have found an agreement with Romero, who is all set to leave Lazio on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the month.

It was reported last week by Gianluca Di Marzio that Milan had been alerted by the opportunity to sign the 18-year-old on a free given that he will not be extending his deal with the Biancocelesti because of a lack of playing time.

Romero arrived at Lazio on a free transfer from Real Mallorca and last season he scored one goal in 12 appearances under Maurizio Sarri.

He made first-team debut in LaLiga aged 15 years and 219 days, becoming the youngest player to play in a ‘top five’ European league, putting him on the radar of clubs like the Rossoneri.

Now, with an agreement in place as per La Repubblica, the management must decide whether to seal the deal or move on to other targets, such as Reiss Nelson perhaps.

  1. I’m highly Disappointed with AC Milan very well the management are just fooling their selves they can’t sign player all there own is to scout please don’t tease our mind if u will scout players and you can’t sign don’t scout instead we want to sell our star player we have not even sign any star players we want to sell we can’t break bank we have a good coach but a poor management I’m ashemed of myself for supporting Acmilan now I know why we find it difficult in winning the champions league we can’t sign solid players instead free transfer all this are rubbish

    1. He has a dual passport of a spanish/argentine citizenship but is actually born in mexico so there is no issues in aquirring him.
I think it could be a smart move he is 18 years old and is a talented player with lots of room to further improve.
I would like us to keep saelemaekers but in the event we were to sell both messias and the belgian then romero couild be a back soloution and he can alsot play in various positions.

  2. Homegrown players are those who, regardless of their nationality, have been trained by their club or by another club in the same national association for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21.
Luca Romero has been at Lazio for only 2 years

  3. Wow at first i thought the famous Cristian Romero, but at second look he’s not so tall youngster winger. At least we will have Argentinian in our main team

  4. I watched higlights off all the RW who are connected with Milan this summer. This guy is the worse by far. He is not ready for the first team. Maybe for the youth team he will be a good adition.

  5. That’s more like it 😁
Free and not re-signed to club. Haven’t heard of him before, hopefully Moncada’s golden touch

  6. This kid is ALL potential and no present-day yield. Would have to be a long term investment, potentially with a primavera start.

  7. Huge potential, one for the future. Dont think he is worse than what we have on the RW. He is free, no harm in getting him on-board. He can be a back up to a decent RW. I would say we get him and if he doesn’t deliver sell him for a capital gain.

  8. He is one for the future, we can even loan Him to get experience, but the right flank is not contributing enough goals, saelemaekers is talented but. He can’t score goals. messias is on and off. We also need a backup for Leo.
