Franck Kessie’s contract will expire at the end of the season and it seems he will leave AC Milan on a free transfer. It’s far from ideal for the Rossoneri who, however, already have started planning for life without him.
According to today’s edition of La Repubblica, as cited by MilanLive, one of the players on Milan’s radar is Jordan Veretout. Since the arrival of Sergio Oliveira in January, the Frenchman has lost his starting spot for Roma.
The Rossoneri have been following the 28-year-old for quite some time and could turn to him to replace Kessie, per the newspaper. Before they signed Ismael Bennacer in 2019, they made a concrete attempt to sign Veretout from Fiorentina.
Milan will also be able to rely on the returns of Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega from their respective loan spell. Adli will most likely play more as a No.10, but Pobega will certainly be an option for the tandem. It remains to be seen what decision Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will make, therefore.

Krunic and Bakayoko are garbage. Adli we still don’t know what he is worth in serie A. Verretout knows Serie A well. Pobega is good but still young, he needs more experience to be a starter at Milan.

I disagree with the krunic, he the only player in the squad that can play any in position if need arise…
in playing 2 anchor midfielder, the CMs needs to be both in defend and attack. This position is the most or most tiring after wingback, u cant get too fatigue to play in this area because this is where creative play comes from.
Thus, Milan needs 4 good CM. Bakayoko and krunic are not good enough. Adli play ACM
We already have 3 good players there : tonali bennacer and pobega. So i do agree that covering CM position is not that important, but a luxury if we have strengten all needed positions.
Top shopping priority should be CF and RW. Messias is ok option. Saeles is should be strategic subtitution due to his defensive playstyle. If we have better player RW, LW would have easier time too more space to play.
