Repubblica: Milan to reignite pursuit of West Ham striker after Rebic sale

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to reignite their pursuit of West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca in the coming days, according to a report.

Today’s edition of La Repubblica (via LaRoma24) writes that Scamacca continues to be the first target for Roma as they look to add a centre-forward this summer, but there are no updates on that front.

Instead, it is Milan who are expected to make a new attempt to sign the former Sassuolo striker in the next few days. Roma believe that Scamacca has given his word to them and they do not fear the competition.

The Rossoneri – with the sale of Ante Rebic – would have salary space and economic strength to convince West Ham. They will talk to the London club again soon, having received an initial rejection from Scamacca when they spoke to his entourage.

    1. We actually have still too many attackers, CDK needs to leave, Origi too if we get another striker, even Saele is a bit surplus but at least gives tactical flexibility.
Messias if he can get fit in time too with Romero, Pulisic, Saele and Okafor as RW options.

  1. Loan with obligation would be good. It seems Okafor is more of a Rebic replacment rather than a strait Giroud back up.

  2. He’s hardly Tonali is he with his desire to play for Milan… Nevertheless if he comes it’d be fun to watch Roma/Mourinho meltdown.

    1. Maybe, but he’d still be a top 5 striker in Serie A. I think only Martinez, Vlahovic, Osimhen and Immobile if he’s not injured and has had all his wheaties, and also maybe Abraham depending on how hard Mourhinho wants to park the bus, are better. I’m not including Hojlund because he’s leaving.

  3. We need to offload at least 4 of the following
Ballo Toure, Origi, Adli CDK, Messias, Saelemakers

For the lists, we can buy only Italian or U21. The contract to Mirante was very puzzling since we can use one of our primavera GK-s as 3rd GK, unless our intention was to just “reserve” him and add him to the lists IF there’s injuries to Maignan and/or Sportiello.

If Mirante is not counted towards the lists, we have _only_ two italian slots open so if we get Scamacca and Mazzocchi, we’d be fully covered in all positions (hope no big injuries especially to Calabria/Florenzi side) .
Not crazy about Scamacca but there are not a lot of options when it comes to Italian strikers.

    1. Only Scamaca if Origi goes the other way we don’t want Scamaca to eat into our transfer budget for next season like Loca and Kean have done to JUVE.

The boy from Rosario Central is a perfect fit for us.

  4. This guy at the centre point of the new Milan attack…it transforms from pedestrian to the most dangerous in the Serie A by some way.
