AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has consolidated his position as coach with a superb run of results in 2024 and the support from Zlatan Ibrahimovic since the Swede returned to the club.
As highlighted by La Repubblica (via Milan News), the Italian coach is looking very strong in his position now after such a promising start to 2024 and it looks more than likely that he will be in the post next season.
In the winter, it seemed like Pioli was playing out his final season as Milan coach with results not going his way and various names being linked with the job for 2024/25.
In 2024, though, Milan have won 14 out of 19 games, look on course to finish second in Serie A which is the best that could be hoped for after Inter’s dominance, and are much more astute defensively with fewer injuries to worry about.
Another big factor in Pioli feeling secure in his role is that Ibrahimovic supports him, with the senior advisor seemingly wielding a lot more power than many first expected.
It seems that Ibrahimovic will have genuine sway over transfers and managerial appointments which means Pioli needs to keep his former striker onside if he wants to get a new contract.
All this support will end after another crushing defeat from Inter.
Lose to Inter & Juve and 90% of people will demand him getting sacked.
Same people who made a lot of noise in the summer about Maldini’s departure and all the transfer activity…
My biggest thing right now isn’t that we are getting good results. It’s that Milan are fun to watch right now. I think the players are doing less mistakes and finding more keys to open up games. And we are less reliant on just using our left flank and hoping for the best. Last game against Lecce at least in the first half, the ball rarely even went to the left side. Having both Pulisic and Chuc on the field meant that the right side was almost as strong as the left.
Have to say that Lecce were horrible though. Not just that we made them look bad. They were bad…

I can name you 10 other teams that have a better squad than Milan. What your saying makes no sense.. I don’t get this high expectations of Milan fans we have 3 new players in our starting Line up who never played in Serie A and they are expecting the team to have perfect chemistry. Pulisic-Loftus-Reijnders. Our best defender was also injured. If you look at our last 14 games in Serie A Milan won 11, drew 2 and lost once. If Pioli can keep this form he should stay!

Because if you watch the same Milan as the rest of us, none of what you said makes ANY sense. Maybe try to understand what you watch before coming on here to make comments…
