The first loss against AS Roma in the Europa League sounded an alarm bell, albeit one that could be silenced with improvements. However, after a 2-1 defeat in the second leg, the alarm is once again sounding, and AC Milan need to find a permanent solution to a repeating problem.
Throughout the season, the management situation has been like a game of cat and mouse. The sack looks imminent for Stefano Pioli, but at the last second, he finds a solution and escapes, somehow coming out of the situation stronger.
However, the losses against Roma make it impossible for Pioli to escape when also considering the other close calls in previous stories following the same pattern. In the lead-up to the fixture, the 58-year-old needed progression in Europe and to avoid humiliation at the hands of Inter. Now, not even a victory against the Nerazzurri might be enough.
Repubblica have today reported that a once looming figure is once again growing. Antonio Conte, who Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a huge fan of, once again seems like a likely candidate to replace the current man in the technical area.
The Italian is seen as a natural replacement for Pioli, and he has been previously reported to be one of the favourites to succeed the 58-year-old.
Another thing to consider is that the options have narrowed, with Thiago Motta reportedly in advanced talks with Juventus, meaning that a decision must be made soon if the Diavolo are to ensure their future is achieved under the hands of the best possible candidate.

Ac Milan app
milan u19 now leads against porto u19 on a goal by scotti after 11 minutes of play 🙂
1-1 now, have to say Sia is very good.
yeah unfortunately, bartesaghi should keep his arms down as that peantlty could easily have been avoided and not even sure that the shot would have hit the goal to begin with. Sia is indeed a good player. Scotti is one of my favourites as well after watching most of the europa youth league matches the last two seasons.
We won man, lesggggoooo proud of the boys. You must also be happy and proud it was Simmelhack who won the game for us.
It was a fun match to watch as it was more back and fourth than an x rated movie 😀 They had me worried during the match though and realistically speaking we could easily have been down with 3-1 at some point as they missed some open sitters. Also the second goal against us really showcased some really bad man marking but as they are basically kids ill give them some slack for that, Yeah its always nice if a dane does good. Funny enough the danish commentator said that ac milan would have a statue of simmelhack erected in front of san siro, that i only had a shrug for 😀 It would be nice though if he could become a højlund for us down the road if we buys him from fc copenhagen,
Yes and also about Zeroli he is such a mature player for his age, thanks to his effort we got our second. Never thought I would enjoy watching our youth team more than the senior team, hopefully the senior team can show even an ounce of courage those kids showed in the derby next week.
All the goals Simmelhack scored were match winning goals. Abate is managing him very well, next season maybe he would be the main striker if Camarda is to be promoted to the B-team. Would love to see him staying at the club for a long time and maybe like the commentator said we will have his statue at our new stadium.
Zeroli is definitely one to keep but i do beleieve it was him who didnt mark good enough at the second goal but he clearly redeemed himself in regard of setting up simmelhack and being cool at the final penalty kick. I agree and definitely also enjoyed this match more than some of our recent ones with the senior team.
I do remember 1 previously in the group play i think he was decisive. He will turn 19 in november so i would expect us use him in the u23 team by then but who knows what plans they have for him but he has nevertheless done well for us this season, I think the commentatprs remark was in regard of that he scored today hence my head shrugging 😀 maybe later in his career, we can alwaysn hope 🙂
Abate needs to take Nsiala out or move Simic to Porto’s n9 because Nsiala will get a 2nd yellow
Yeah even though i like nsiala he worries me a bit today as well.
That was a fun game to watch! Credit to the boys and Abate for fighting until the last breath. Shows heart.
Absolutely i was also fully entertained and they do show some grit when needed.
Good. I don’t like Conte but in Italy he has proved he makes a winning team. He makes the players champions, gets trophies and when he leaves although abruptly the team gets out stronger. So if milan can give him what he wants at least I’ll have the satisfaction of knowing we will be a solid team.
Agree
Horrendous idea. Have you seen the state he leaves teams in? Get a grip
Đội đang thiếu cá tính như Conte…
All I hear is “Maldini was right about EVERYTHING” again – if it were up to him we’d have Pirlo as coach…. As for Conte, Sarri or DeZerbi or that Spanish dude everyone’s talking about, I’m finding it about as hard to get excited about them as a trip to the dentist.
Conte would be such a knee-jerk reaction I fear… he, we’d get the Scudetto in a year or two but I feel like it would set the team back years.
Not even sure what effect he’d have on players. Leao? Theo? Puli? Would they flourish or wither?
Exactly. Conte would demand his usual overpriced old players and we’d be barely getting into 6th in 4 years time
Conte would never coach a team that sells expectations. He works with people who want ti win.
Maldini wanted to win CL, this guy wants to build the cheapeast team that could still reach CL spots.
Iron Mike Is prob gone next Mercato.
Dumb Maldini apologist
They spent over €100 million. Do you understand the meaning of the word cheap?
I don’t care anymore… As long as Pioli is gone. Motta… Abate… Conte… Even Bonera sounds better than sticking with Mr. Zero Tactics.
I feel the pain my friend
Hiring Conte was a good idea in winter. Pretty straight forward path to UCL qualification spots and easy draw in EL ment that he’d have a long runway before pressure kicks in.
And that way he’d have time with the squad to assess which players could fit his ideas before summer transfer window. Hiring him at the end of the season means there’d be chaos in the mercato, as our squad needs a lot of adjusting for his sytle of play.
Literally the dumbest idea possible. Why in earth would you bring in another of the SAME TYPE OF COACH? And one who demands overpriced has beens at every club. Imbeciles. We don’t need another coach afraid of attacking football, and unwilling to adapt. Conte is the worst name on the list
