AC Milan are interested in signing Luis Alberto and want to try and repeat an operation their rivals Inter did, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com) writes that Maurizio Sarri’s treatment of the Spanish playmaker has created a relationship between the pair that is far from idyllic, and it cannot be ruled out that it could lead to a definite breakdown.
That is Milan’s hope at least, as the management are continuing to monitor Alberto’s situation after they made enquiries during the summer when he failed to show up on time for the preseason training camp.
The paper even adds that Milan could make an offer worth around €30m when factoring in loan fee plus an option or obligation to buy, which is basically exactly what Inter did to sign forward Joaquin Correa from the capital club over the summer.
Given that Milan are low on depth for the playmaker role at the moment, it is definitely possible that a new player in that position will be sought when the window reopens, especially if winning the title becomes a serious objective.
