Tuttosport: Retegui leads Milan’s striker shortlist – management align strategy in advance

AC Milan are clear that they need to sign a new striker in the summer, and they have a number of different options available to them.

It is a known fact now that Milan want to sign a striker, and it appears that there is some alignment across all members of the club. Indeed, after a meeting between Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Igli Tare, Giorgio Furlani and most importantly, Massimiliano Allegri, an agreement appears to have been reached.

Retegui the ideal

As Tuttosport writes, a ‘Euro Milan’ will be built in the summer, as long as Champions League qualification is achieved, and it will be built upon signings of experience and youth when the mercato opens later this year.

MilanPress relays that the ‘wish is already well-defined’, and Mateo Retegui features prominently for that striker position that the Rossoneri so desperately want to fix.

Of course, other names have been listed regularly, but it seems that the Italian could be making his way back to Italy, perhaps to wear the red and black stripes. He was a potential target last summer, but a move was never sanctioned.

So, it may be time to bite the bullet to avoid losing out on him once again.

    1. Whaaaaat? Retegui is ten times better than Colombo.

In any case, this looks like a pipe dream to me. Retegui’s salary is currently 20 million Euros. This is completely out of reach for us. Even if Retegui desires to return to Italy and will accept a pay cut in order to do that, I doubt that he will want to go from 20 million to 5 million like Milan practices. Juve pays 12 million to Vlahovic. A richer club will poach Retegui, and that club won’t be Milan.

  1. Watched Fiorentina vs Inter, Fagoli was on another planet, almost would forget Tonali if we got him and he played the way he did last night vs Inter..

Fagoli, Dodo and Mois Keen, we should even sell Pulisic or Salesmeekers if need be to get these 3, call me mad but they take Milan up more than a few levels

Fagoli with Allegri’s guidance would be a phenomenal

    1. For fagioli position , Milan already have Ricci. He’s better than fagioli, the difference it’s allegri not give some proper minutes for him. He already have the talent

  2. What system is Allegri wanting to use next year? What is the plan? If he insists on 352 then Milan don’t need Leao or Nkunku. Bring in strikers for that system.

If it changes to 433 then reinforce the wings, the CB’s and find a great 9.
