GdS: Retegui offers himself to Milan and another – the initial signs after ‘Italian tour’

This summer, AC Milan will sign another striker and Mateo Retegui is one of the top choices among the management.

After the recent goalscoring struggles seen by Milan, there is another need to head to the mercato for a striker. So, for the fifth mercato in a row, they will look for a striker and perhaps now they will invest significantly.

There are several options available and more names will emerge before the window opens. Yet, it appears that there is a favourite inside the walls of Casa Milan: Retegui.

The Italian has not loved the Saudi Pro League enough to stay there past the summer, so his entourage are looking for an exit and a move to the Rossoneri could certainly be on the cards for the current Capocannoniere.

Retegui seeking Saudi exit

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Radio Rossonera, the Italian’s entourage have toured Italy recently, seeking suitors for their client. In fact, is has even been suggested that the striker has offered himself to the Diavolo and Juventus.

However, the initial response was not massively promising, thanks to his current €16 million salary. Indeed, it is unlikely to be matched back in Serie A, especially by a Milanese management that is extremely cautious when it comes to wages.

That is not to say a deal couldn’t happen, though.

  1. Retegui is our best option. Look at his stats. This guy scores equally with his left and right foot and his head. The last striker Milan had like that was Shevchenko.

No to Kean, Vlahovic and Gyokeres. Big YES FOR RETEGUI.

      1. Kean is superior in many ways BUT he’s also a huge talent in missing sitters. He has an insane ability to squander even the easiest chances. His terrible miss against Bosnia really proved it.

  2. Not gonna lie, but after watching his games against both Northen Ireland And Bosnia&Herzegovina, I’m not sure I’m really eager to get him or Moise Kean.

    1. My thoughts exactly. They both missed horribly and we cannot have strikers who squander those kinds of chances.

  3. Fat and slow, might have discipline problems, the way he looked for the Azzurri he looked just as lost as Gimenez looks up front.

  4. Reterui looked off for Italy and seemed slow – playing at an Arab League pace. And at his wages, they can keep him.

  5. Kean is better. Only problem is that he’s not calm in front of goal. I saw the games against Bosnia, and, Hellas Verona. He offers more on the pitch than most. Just needs a good coach to work on his finishing. I don’t know if Allegri is the man for that.

  6. It’s way to much for Retegui or Kean. Personally I wouldn’t pay more than 35 for them. We need someone who are closer to Osimhen if we want to improve

  7. Retegui looked like a traffic cone in the past 2 games for Italy. He’s clearly regressed since joining the Saudi Pro League. That’s not even considering his transfer fee and the salary he’s on. I wouldn’t mind Kean; he would fit well in a 3-5-2 system with his hold up play and ability to run behind the defense.

  8. Both Kean and Retegui are not the CFs we need if we want to attempt the Scudetto next season. If we do not really care about it then Kean/Retegui should be enough for top 4.

  9. Going to Saudi pro league was such a bad career move (if you ignore the insane amount of money) wouldn’t be surprised if he flops hard for any club that signs him. He looked really bad in the NT
