Three games have been played in the Champions League group stage and AC Milan have just two points. Not only has this affected their chances of reaching the round of 16, but also the revenue collected so far.
As we saw last season, the revenue made from the competition is crucial for a club like Milan. They managed to win three games, draw one and lose two last campaign, collecting a total of €9.3m for the results in the group stage.
Currently at two draws and one loss, Milan have collected €1.86m out of a possible €8.4m, as a win is worth €2.8m and a draw €0.93m. The next three games will thus be very important from a revenue perspective, with another €8.4m on the line. Not to mention that reaching the round of 16 is worth €9.6m.
PSG are up next, making the trip to San Siro, and a win there for the Rossoneri would change the situation completely. Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle are just two points ahead as things stand, so the group remains wide open.
