Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci has admitted that he is flattered by some of the rumours circulating in the media which suggest that he is a target for AC Milan and Manchester City.

The rise of Ricci is something that has gathered a lot of attention in the past few weeks. After shining at Empoli he made the move to Torino in what feels like an intermediary step, and now he is a senior Italy international he is beginning to get recognition for his development.

Milan invested in Youssouf Fofana during the summer but Ricci’s name was often mentioned as an option, and various reports in the past few days have suggested that he is a target for the upcoming months as well given the need for cover in that role.

Ricci is currently away with the Italian national team and he gave an interview to Rai Sport in which he was asked about the speculation linking him with a move to Milan and Manchester City.

“It’s definitely a great pleasure, but I’ve learned to know football a little. When things go well you are linked to these clubs and it’s gratifying because it means the work is the right one, the path is the right one,” he said (via MilanNews).

  1. Tiago Santos/Trippier, J.David, Ricci, Frendrup would have instant impact… hope we also get Maldini and Saelemakers back, in summer…

RLC, Bennacer, Jovic and Calabria need to go…

      1. Yeah, better go immediately after the first good season to play second fiddle to Rodri, or go to Milan to play with lazy players under a coach who has never won any trophy. Belotti was the typical striker who has one or two good seasons. He has nobody but himself to blame.
