AC Milan’s game against Real Madrid tomorrow is being by some as a write-off, but the Rossoneri have a chance if they follow past trends, according to Frank Rijkaard.

Champions League Matchday Four provides a European spectacle, as Milan prepare to face Real at the Bernabeu, and whilst there have been doubts about the Rossoneri, they will be keen to give a good account of themselves.

It is a clash which sits at the peak of European football historically, and Fonseca will demand his stars to be at their best. Additionally, there will be a keen focus on the battle between Rafael Leao and Vinicius Jr., albeit for different reasons.

Someone who knows all about games of this magnitude is Rijkaard. The Dutchman won eight European titles in his club career, and six came during his time with the Rossoneri – a club he still loves.

Ahead of his former club’s clash against Los Blancos, the midfielder offered his thoughts on Milan’s chances, and Milan Press have relayed his words.

“The match against Real Madrid is a special one. The Spanish always remain a very strong team with a winning mentality. Historically, Milan have always prepared well for this kind of match.”
