Risk of trouble at Milan-Atalanta averted as Police Headquarters announce solution

By Oliver Fisher -

The risk of trouble flaring up in the away section at San Siro during Sunday’s game between AC Milan and Atalanta seems to have been averted.

On Sunday the ‘guest’ sector will welcome both Atalanta and Milan fans. There was obviously a huge clamour for tickets given the Rossoneri are a maximum of four points away from winning the Scudetto but if they beat Gasperini’s side and Inter drop points, it will be all over before round 38.

The matches between Milan and Atalanta always have a great competitive spirit and high tension, and the fan bases notoriously do not get along, which is why there have been eyebrows raised at the decision to not have any restrictions on ticket sales in the away section which led to some Milan fans buying them in there.

However, MilanLive report that the Police Headquarters has made it known that fans who are about to enter the guest sector in San Siro will be asked who they support in order to divide the Milan fans from those of Atalanta, and then they will be separated during the game.
