RMC Sport: Hope for Milan as PSG trail ‘Italian club’ in race for €40m Chelsea midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

Paris Saint-Germain are in fact not the favourites to land Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as initially thoughts, according to one journalist.

The Bakayoko saga continues to drag on week by week, after it seemed highly likely that the player would return to AC Milan this summer. The Rossoneri have not managed to find an agreement with Chelsea over a deal which led to rumours that PSG are now leading the race to sign him after registering their interest.

According to RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi, there is in fact a Serie A side who are currently ahead in the chase for Bakayoko, amid reports from SportMediaset that Napoli have been offered the player.

It could mean of course that Milan have gone back in for the player and it is in fact a return to San Siro that is the most likely option, but no further details are offered by the journalist apart from that PSG boss Thomas Tuchel wants Rudiger and not Bakayoko.

Bakayoko cost Chelsea €40m when he joined from Monaco three years ago, so the Blues are looking to make a big portion of that back if possible.
