AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli has insisted that the team want to go one better than last season, hinting at Scudetto aspirations.
There are some doubts about Romagnoli’s future at present, given his contract with Milan will expire in 2022 and there have been many exit rumours, seeing as his agent is Mino Raiola. Without an agreement this summer, it is possible that the Rossoneri would be forced to sell him.
Nonetheless, there are also reports that Milan will keep their captain regardless of whether he renews his deal and that he wants to stay at Milan for the last season of his contract, where he will try to regain a spot in the starting line-up and perhaps earn an extension offer.
Romagnoli was interviewed by Milan TV at the end of today’s friendly match between Milan and Modena, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews and translated below.
On Gazidis: “We are all with him, we wish him great good luck. I know he was watching the game, so a big good luck to Ivan, he will surely win this battle and come back stronger than before.”
On targets: “Now the goal is to work and start strong, we were good but the road is long and we have to work.”
On the next season: “We always have to improve, last year we had a great season but this year we have to do even better.”
On his current moment: “I work, work and feel good so I work with the right mind. We all work together.”

I’m sure we lost more points with him on the field last season then when he was benched. He’s waiting for his contract to expire so he can go for free. Hope they sell him asap.
