GdS: Milan offer Romagnoli less than half of his current salary – exit now seems inevitable

AC Milan are not optimistic about renewing the contract of Alessio Romagnoli as he now seems destined to leave on a free transfer, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the renewal of Romagnoli’s contract is becoming increasingly unlikely. The paper focuses on the future of the Rossoneri captain, whose deal with Milan will expire on June 30.

The player currently receives a salary of around €6m net per season, and that is a figure that the Milan management would like to halve, in line with their new policy of cutting salaries where possible to help the accounts.

The offer from the Rossoneri currently stands at €2.8m net per season and given that it would be a big cut, Romagnoli has not yet accepted the proposal. Not only that, but the impression is that an exit is the only reasonable solution for the centre-back after what will be seven years of service.
