Romagnoli responds to exit rumours by revealing ‘immense pride’ at being a Milan player

AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli may have dropped a strong hint about his future as he has revealed his ‘immense pride’ at representing the club.

The future of Romagnoli is uncertain despite his rank as club captain, having lost his spot in the starting line-up to loanee Fikayo Tomori and with just a year left on his contract, leading to a crossroads regarding whether his six-year tenure with the Rossoneri will continue.

Tuttosport reported yesterday (via MilanLive) that with his starting spot lost, a place at the Euros at risk and a very complicated contract renewal situation, the clues could lead Romagnoli leaving Milan without too much remorse in the summer.

However, Romagnoli spoke to the club’s media channel during the presentation of the new 2021-22 PUMA home shirt, with his comments relayed by the official website, and reaffirmed his happiness to be a part of the club.

“Wearing the red and black colours day in and day out gives me immense pride. The new kit looks really modern, and you can truly see where the inspiration for the stripes comes from – it is a great representation of Milan’s new and expanding skyline,” he said.
