AS Roma are getting much closer to signing French defender Evan Ndicka than AC Milan are despite attempts from the Rossoneri to hijack the deal, a report claims.
As has been reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Giallorossi are now in the final stages of the deal to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt player on a free transfer.
It has seemed for some time that Ndicka is destined to play for Jose Mourinho’s Roma next season, but there was a suggestion in recent days that Milan may try and hijack the deal quickly with the lure of Champions League final.
That may not be working as Roma are very close to signing him on a five-year deal for a salary of €4m. Whilst Milan are in the market for a new defender or two this season, the priority is to bolster the attack of the team with a striker and an attacking midfielder.

We don’t struggle on set pieces because we don’t have N’Dicka lol. We struggle because Pioli doesn’t know hie to set up his players on set pieces. He does a zone and man mix and it’s sloppy and nobody knows their assignment and it shows. Also, Gabbia is solid in the air as well as Kjaer and Thiaw will get better and has the size for it. It’s mainly Tomori and Kalulu who blow in the air…. we actually are covered.
Defenders are the least of the team’s needs. Be reasonable.

There’s usually zero objectivity on these threads…. N’Dicka would be a good addition theoretically. Roma offering 2.8. If Furlani throws 3mil and CL football I don’t see him turning it down.
If this is the change of direction the ownership wishes to push ACM forward, then well, this is somewhat at least disappointing if they can’t divert a free-agent player from joining Roma.
