Romano: Camarda in line for call-up vs. Fiorentina after Okafor injury blow

AC Milan have another injury to deal with as Noah Okafor has sustained a muscle issue, and now Francesco Camarda is expected to be called up at the weekend.

As we reported earlier today, Okafor suffered a thigh injury during Switzerland’s recent game against Romania and the MRI scan carried out yesterday upon his return to Milanello highlighted a lesion to the right hamstring.

That means Milan have just Christian Pulisic, Samuel Chukwueze, Luka Jovic and Luka Romero available out of their forward group for Saturday’s match, given Okafor’s absence, Rafael Leao’s injury and Olivier Giroud’s suspension.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan are considering calling up the 15-year-old Primavera striker Camarda to be part of the first squad for the upcoming game against Fiorentina.

Camarda has seven goals and two assists this season across 13 appearances with Ignazio Abate’s side, including three UEFA Youth League goals scored against PSG and Newcastle United. Romano adds that a new deal will be offered to the striker soon.
