Atalanta have resolved any doubts they might have had about Charles De Ketelaere and will sign him on a permanent deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old scored again during Atalanta’s 2-0 win over Lecce on Saturday which booked their place in next season’s edition of the Champions League. That brings his tally up to 14 goals and nine assists for La Dea in 47 games.
It would be fair to say that the Belgian has found a new lease of life under Gian Piero Gasperini, and during an interview he gave after the game he admitted to being ‘sorry’ that he could not hit the ground running at Milan in the same way as he did in Bergamo.
During his latest Daily Briefing column for CaughtOffside, Romano spoke about the situation related to De Ketelaere after his excellent bounce-back season on loan with Atalanta.
“Atalanta want to complete the permanent signing of Charles De Ketelaere from AC Milan after the Europa League final. A €23m buy option clause plus €4m add-ons deal has already been fixed since last June, plus a 10% sell-on clause for Milan,” he said.

Another Pioli’s mastercall
The way the player couldn’t integrate well in the team was a Pioli’s fault for sure. But the bad deal we got (that’s in favor of Atalanta) was all the management’s master works.
We will move past Pioli, but this is total garbage.
Maignan, Giroud, Pulisic, RLC, Reijnders, Okafor, Jovic, etc. all did quite well their 1st seasons with Milan.
Maybe the ones that didn’t succeed weren’t ready. It happens, not just to Pioli.
Only Giroud and Pulisic have scored more goals in serie A for Milan this season than CDK. He was always playing up front for Brugge and now Atalanta, but Pioli the genius played him as a midfielder.
