Romano deals blow to Spurs and Arsenal as midfielder ‘wants to play in the UCL with Milan’

By Oliver Fisher -

Midfielder Franck Kessie is in talks over a new deal to stay at AC Milan, with whom he wants to achieve his dream of playing in the Champions League.

Calciomercato.it reported earlier in the month that Kessie is highly regarded in England, with Arsenal and Spurs believing he has the perfect characteristics for the Premier League, though a bid of €40-50million may not even be enough.

Calciomercato.com among other sources though are reporting that Milan have no intention of selling Kessie, who has become one of the stars of a Milan side that is giving the club its best form in many a year.

Given that his contract expires in 2022 the management are keen to avoid another situation like the Hakan Calhanoglu one – where time is working against them – and to get his future resolved ASAP.

Fabrizio Romano has given his take on the situation in his latest Here We Go podcast, confirming that the Ivorian has absolutely no intention of leaving any time soon.

“Franck Kessié wants to stay at AC Milan, he wants to play in the Champions League with Milan. He’s negotiating for a new contract with them,” he said (via RouteOneFootball).
