Romano: Fofana facing ‘important few hours’ as Milan ‘want to push’ for a deal

Youssouf Fofana is the top priority for AC Milan now, and the French midfielder only wants a move to the Rossoneri, but a deal is not that simple, unfortunately.

The mercato is always a difficult time of year – frustration, excitement, the mercato has it all. This has been the case for Milan, and whilst there can be excitement about the arrival of the three signings who have already joined the club, there is frustration about the one who hasn’t.

All summer, the Diavolo have pursued a defensive-minded midfielder, and for most of the summer, the player in question has been Youssouf Fofana. However, for most of the summer, the reports have not provided positive updates with Monaco proving difficult to negotiate with.

In recent days, Manchester United entered the race to sign the Frenchman – joining other Premier League teams in the race – but Fofana only has eyes for Milan as Fabrizio Romano has reported on his X account.

After Fonseca further confirmed that the Monégasque midfielder was the club’s top target, Matteo Moretto reported that the player is facing an ‘important few hours’ with the Rossoneri wanting to ‘make a push’ for their number one target.

The player and the club, only see each other, but whether Monaco will allow them to come together this summer remains to be seen.
