Romano: David a ‘top target’ for Milan who have a ‘good chance’ to sign him

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on AC Milan’s pursuit of Jonathan David including clarification regarding the idea that a move could occur in the January transfer window.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that David is the name chosen by the Milan management to come and breathe new life into the attacking department.

The fact he has a contract expiring in 2025 and has struggled so far this season (2 goals in 12 Ligue 1 games, having scored 24 last season) has brought his asking price down to €40m – or even lower – from the original €60m.

According to Fabrizio Romano‘s latest tweet, the Canada international ‘remains one of the top targets’ for Milan ahead of 2024, however a January move can seemingly be ruled out.

The journalist states that the deal could only be feasible in the 2024 summer window due to price tag and given he would have 12 months left on his current deal, it means there is a ‘good chance’ for Milan to sign him.

However, he’s also on the wish list of three Premier League clubs, who as we know would potentially be able to outbid the Rossoneri given the financial power English sides have.
