Romano gives update on Krunic situation plus Milan’s intentions regarding renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Things seem to be moving forward in Fenerbahce’s pursuit of Rade Krunic and AC Milan are waiting for an offer from them, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Krunic has gone from being a central pillar of Stefano Pioli’s tactical set up to now being an afterthought. In the first few games of the season he played in the middle of a midfield three, but since recovering from an injury he seems to have lost his spot.

The former Empoli man remained an unused sub for the 3-1 win against Frosinone on Saturday for example, and not only that but he wasn’t even sent out to warm up at any point.

According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Fenerbahçe proposal to Krunic ‘remains the same since last summer’ and the parties are ‘almost agreed’ on personal terms. The Bosnian is the the ‘top target’ for the Turkish club ahead of the January window.

The Milan management meanwhile are ‘waiting for a formal proposal’ from Fenerbahce in the coming weeks, and Romano adds that Krunic ‘will not be offered a new deal’ to extend his deadline beyond the current June 2025.

  1. Good job. Krunic was relatively cheap investment, and we can remember that he had many good moments in Ac Milan.
Top midfielders today cost 10 times more in transfer fees and the same amount in salaries, but with Krunic Milan managed to cover back up positions in midfield and now, 4 years after arrival Milan will capital gain in Krunic transfer.
Also, Rade deserved good salary, in probable his last big contract of career.

  2. Did he have many good moments? It must have been during the 4 or 5 games I missed in the last 4 years.

A video of Krunić’s highlights would last about 32 seconds, of which the first 26 would be clips of him warming up or running to celebrate someone else’s goal.

      1. LOL

        Who’s the idiot?
The one who is furious and had to spend time looking for one of the 3 or 4 existing (and lame) videos of Krunic or the one who triggered such a response by just writing 4 lines and is laughing his ass off.

  3. I think his departure is the right time (could have been this summer too). He was a very good squad utility player and has good qualities. But the level we demand at Milan is too high and does not justify the numbers from the renewal. By the looks of it, he will become a starter at Fenerbahce which is great for him and his career.

He was always good at taking the ball back and pressing seemingly out of nowhere. French commentators called him “L’homme de l’ombre” or man of the shadows because no one would see him snatch the ball away from you.

I will always keep good memories of him. Glad to have had him, glad that he is going somewhere he can be happy.
