Romano: Leipzig make ‘lucrative’ contract offer to keep Milan target Sesko

By Isak Möller -

Benjamin Sesko has attracted the interest of several clubs after a very successful season with RB Leipzig. However, the German side would like to keep the striker and have made a lucrative renewal offer, according to a report.

Sesko has scored 18 goals for Leipzig this season and with Milan looking for a new No.9, he has been linked with the club. Having said that, it was confirmed earlier today that the Slovenian’s release clause is set at €65m, which is a very high figure.

Furthermore, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig would like to keep hold of their striker for one more year and have made a ‘lucrative’ renewal offer in recent days. He would be a key player in the project and it remains to be seen how Sesko will respond to this.

As said, several clubs have expressed their interest in the player and not just Milan, so Sesko will surely have some options to choose between. The feeling is that the Rossoneri will have to withdraw from the race, now seemingly more focused on Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna.

In the meantime, Milan fans are preparing to thank Olivier Giroud for his services, with the final game scheduled for next weekend at San Siro.

  1. If Zirkzee can be bought for 40m then go for him. But if it’s more than 50m, just take Sesko… For 15m more we will get a striker that is younger and more a classic 9 and guarantee more goals.

  2. Think if rbl makes cl he wil stay. He picked this club so he can develop more before he makes the jump to a top club. He’s young and in no rush unlike most players his age

    1. He will either stay at Leipzig or join Arsenal this summer. Staying at Leipzig would not be surprising, since there he can keep developing his game without increased pressure.
