Romano: Man Utd must clarify future of Milan-linked defender before launching Trippier move

Manchester United must clarify Diogo Dalot’s future before making a move for Kieran Trippier with AC Milan interested, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The journalist writes on Twitter that the Trippier situation is still quiet as Manchester United need to clarify Dalot’s future. Milan want to re-sign the Portugal international after he spent last season on loan and impressed the management, but the Red Devils are asking for a €4-5m loan fee if they are to include an option to buy.

Therefore, it seems that United have been called upon to sort out Dalot’s future before they can launch a move for Trippier of Atletico Madrid, who Romano writes are not considering Alessandro Florenzi of Roma as a replacement.

There have been numerous reports suggesting that Dalot wants to return to Milan, which could certainly be an important factor in negotiations between the two clubs as we enter the last month of the mercato.
