Romano: Milan closing in on €3m bargain for Argentine defender Pellegrino

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are set to welcome the Argentine youngster Marco Pellegrino in the coming days, thus making their ninth signing of the summer. According to a report, they have reached an agreement at a bargain price.

Pellegrino has been identified as the primary target to replace Matteo Gabbia, who joined Villarreal on a season-long loan earlier this summer. His contract with Atletico Platense will expire in 2024 and Milan have made the most of that fact.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is nearly done and Milan will pay a total of €3m for the player. Previous reports suggested that the 21-year-old would cost €5-6m and it seemed like a fair deal then, making the new price tag a bargain.

Only the final details need sorting out, as Romano concludes, but everything suggests that Pellegrino will become a new Milan player very soon. Being left-footed, he will be a great addition to the Rossoneri defence, given that there are currently only right-footed centre-backs present.

    1. Left Footed CB from Argentina that has Italian citizenship/passport 21 yr old 1,84 cm that I personally think they can try him as LB tbh . They say he is one of the defenders in Argentina rn but take it with a grain of salt. I’m hoping he’s not gonna be like Leo Duarte was couple years ago. Also the coach they have is Boca juniors legend and Boca is the best club in Argentina them and River Plate

  1. 3m euro are cheap , fabrizio romano are trusted source . It is very good deal 3m euro with percentage future sale . Maybe tomorrow already here we go by romano for this CB

    1. And you know that how, what is your source? Transfermarket evaluation of the players if that is what you are quoting here is 10% accurate at best. Aside from big players that we all know, anyone else is out of date in terms of history or any data there. Even for big players it’s still arguable. I know this for a fact for few players I know since they were todlers, if I read TM no information there is accurate.

The true evaluation is what is someone willing to pay for a product in the market, so if we are willing to fork 3M then he is worth at least that much.

Sorry! But I am really getting sick of some coments here that have nothing to do with reality, common sense or any rationale whatesoever.

      1. That’s why I wrote ‘market value’. Take it easy will ya.

Have you ever heard about him prior to Milan’s approach? Have you ever heard about him getting linked with other big clubs or just simply, other clubs? Just to get a better idea on how much he’s valued by the market.

And how can we say it’s a bargain? How can we say it’s a great deal if we’re the only one who chase him? Only based on the value by his club (which of course try to sell as high as possible).

        1. He’s been linked to other clubs. Stop making leaps and assumptions because you aren’t personally excited about a transfer.

  2. Transfermarketweb notoriously undervalues players and doesn’t take into account high potential. No way would have this player left for 400k under any circumstances.
