Romano: Milan hold ‘advantage on the price’ as Fofana is pushing for move

Youssouf Fofana has accepted AC Milan’s proposal and is now pushing for the move, which gives the Rossoneri an advantage in the negotiations with Monaco. This was reported by Fabrizio Romano earlier today.

Milan have been evaluating several defensive midfielders since the end of the 2023-24 season, hoping to restore some balance in the team, and Fofana now appears to be one step away. The Rossoneri ‘just’ need to reach an agreement with Monaco.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Milan already have an agreement with the player who wants the move, having accepted the contract terms put forward. Negotiations are ongoing between the Rossoneri and Monaco, who rejected €30m from Nottingham Forrest recently.

However, since the player is pushing for a move to Milan and only has one year left on his contract, an agreement will likely be reached at a lower price. This was added by Romano in a follow-up tweet, stating that the Rossoneri obviously have ‘an advantage on the price’.

One that will be very happy with the 25-year-old’s arrival is Paulo Fonseca who, in the meantime, will be working behind closed doors at Milanello as per Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s orders.
