Romano: Milan agree personal terms with RB Salzburg defender – the next step

AC Milan have reached an agreement with Strahinja Pavlović over personal terms and are now working on a deal with Red Bull Salzburg.

According to what is being reported by Fabrizio Romano, Milan have reached a verbal agreement with the entourage of Pavlović over what would be a ‘long-term deal’ for the central defender. Negotiations are now underway with RB Salzburg to sort the package and final fee.

Romano adds that Milan are also still in talks with with Spurs for Emerson Royal and Monaco for Youssuf Fofana as they look to continue to bolster the defence and midfield after a season in which too many goals were conceded.

Pavlovic is a left-footed central defender – something missing from the current squad – as well as being young at 23 years of age. However, he has notable experience in the Champions League with Salzburg and in the World Cup and European Championship with Serbia, who he starts for.

There have been some stories regarding the potential sale of Fikayo Tomori or Malick Thiaw, but it feels more as though Pavlovic is seen as a replacement for Simon Kjaer, who departed at the end of last season when his contract with the Rossoneri expired.
