Romano: Milan close on signing of Chelsea outcast in €30-32m deal after turning point in talks

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are feeling optimistic about their chances of signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been persistently linked with a move for the Frenchman since his loan expired a year ago, but that speculation has intensified over the last few weeks.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest for Calciomercato.com, returning to Milan has always been Bakayoko’s only priority and it is expected that his dream will become a reality.

The journalist adds that the feelings are decidedly optimistic after contacts over the last few days. Milan feel like they are edging closer to signing the midfielder after a turning point in the negotiations.

That is because Chelsea have opened up to the formula of the loan with option to buy, but Milan must hurry to avoid second thoughts or attempts by other clubs.

The operation would cost €30-32 million when factoring in the loan and possible option, i.e. the total amount. Bakayoko is waiting and his contract is not a problem, and Romano concludes by claiming it could only be a matter of days.
