Romano: Milan could re-sign Verona star as favourable clause guarantees significant discount

Matteo Pessina continues to impress in his first season in the top flight, having become a protagonist for Hellas Verona. Of course, this hasn’t gone unnoticed and the midfielder has attracted some interest on the market.

According to Fabrizio Romano of Calciomercato.com, Atalanta intend to bring him back thanks to the buy-back clause in the contract, which they can use when the loan expires in 2021. However, many like Pessina and it could be hard to keep him.

Of course, the final decision will be made by Atalanta, who consider the player as a jewel for Gian Piero Gasperini to work on. He could even be useful for the Champions League next season, but pay attention to Milan.

Waiting to understand the situation amid Ralf Rangnick’s future arrival, as the reporter states, the Rossoneri are entitled to 50% of a future resale of Pessina. In other words, the same clause would allow them to sign him at half price.

An agreement that dates back to the time when he was included in the operation that brought Andrea Conti to Milan. The latter will evaluate it but getting a player like Pessina for 50% is certainly a great opportunity.

Juventus and Napoli have been following him for months and Valencia made an approach during the Champions League encounter between the sides. Meanwhile, Pessina continues to score and the market is approaching.
