Romano: Milan miss out on attacking target as Brighton agree €34m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

One reported target can be crossed off AC Milan’s list as Brighton and Hove Albion have secured the signing of Joao Pedro from Watford.

The Athletic were the first source to report that Milan had an interest in Joao Pedro after he visited the city during the recent international break, however they stated that the asking price Watford had set meant they were unlikely to win the race.

As recently as yesterday Calciomercato.com reported that the Milan scouts and management had been left ‘bewitched’ by the Brazilian, who has been one of the few stand-out performers in a difficult season for Watford, having scored 11 goals in the league.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports that it is Brighton that have won the race to sign him and the deal will be ‘official soon’. His contract being signed with the Premier League side, who are ‘prepared to unveil their new star’.

The fee will be close to £30m which is around €34m with personal terms agreed, and he even gave it the famous ‘Here we go confirmed’.

  1. Players in England generally are always overrated no matter the division they play and the club they play for. Whether they are good or not.
