AC Milan are in the market for a new right-back and are in active talks with one of their targets, according to a report.
While there might be other priorities for the management to address such as the central midfield area, the right wing department and signing a new striker to help Olivier Giroud out, the right-back role is one to watch.
Alessandro Florenzi’s physical condition will be of great concern to the staff given he has missed big chunks of the last two seasons, while the man brought in to provide cover for him – Sergino Dest – has returned to Barcelona after a disappointing loan spell.
According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Milan have both Wilfried Singo and Iván Fresneda on their list as they search for a ‘new right-back’.
He adds that talks took place for Singo yesterday too, implying that the interest is very concrete. Fresneda meanwhile is also appreciated by Barcelona, but they are ‘still waiting for the deal to advance’.

He is a much better CB. The Scudetto pair was him and Tomori. It is pretty clear.
Yet last season he played like he had never even heard about the CB position. He was truly awful in practically every match where he played as the CB.
No one even remembers the scudetto season anymore and old merits count for nothing when you’re making colossal hazards match after match.
Sure, it would be nice to get the same performance from Kalulu-Tomori than 1-1,5 years ago but after the way they both played last season I doubt we’ll see that ever again.
He is awful at RB, useless. That is why they don’t consider him a RB…
He definitely regressed compared to the season before, but I think Pioli thinks of him as the Krunic of defence – slot him anywhere.

FFS… Calabria, Kalulu, Florenzi. If those aren’t enough, we’d still have Saelemaekers as backup. Far bigger issues in the squad.
Unless they’ve already decided it’s Kalulu that gets sold next summer and they want to give time to the “new Kalulu” to settle in. I get it, Kalulu is the best “sellable asset” as he was basically free and his value has skyrocketed – and plays as a backup ATM. And if we got someone like Singo to replace him… I wouldn’t be THAT sad. But I doubt we’d get him.
Big mistake activate buy option florenzi .now we can only wait till his contract expire in 2025 ( 3m euro nett / season ) . Ivan fresneda more technical & have good crossing , should go over him but singo know italian league well too , hard decision for management
I like Singo but he seems far better as RWB, not pure RB, while we are likely to play a back 4
plus given Calabria is captain, spending a lot of money on Singo probably not worthwhile. Kalulu might turn out to be v good but I can understand the management selling him for say, €35mn and buying Fresneda for under €15mn. Fiscally astute
