Romano: Milan part of an ‘open’ race to land Brazilian playmaker on a free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

Further confirmation has arrived that AC Milan are in the running to land playmaker Otavio, who looks set to leave Porto on a free transfer.

Through our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota, we revealed how Milan are monitoring Otavio ahead of the summer window as a potential free transfer opportunity, and this has since gone on to be reported by a number of other sources too with some even claiming a contract offer has been tabled.

According to what Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his latest Here We Go podcast (via R1F), there are many clubs interested in Otavio given his current contractual situation, enticed by the possibility of adding a solid creative option for no transfer fee.

He confirms that Milan are part of an ‘open’ race for the player, adding that Porto will probably lose him as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season, hinting there is little chance of a renewal.
