Romano: ‘Here we go’ as Musah becomes Milan’s eighth signing – the details

By Isak Möller -

Yunus Musah will become AC Milan’s eighth signing of the summer. An agreement has been reached with Valencia and the midfielder will arrive in the city next week for the medical tests.

The negotiations were long and tiring but Milan eventually managed to reach an agreement with Valencia over the midfielder. According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is worth €20m including bonuses and the medical tests are scheduled for next week.

Musah will sign a five-year deal with the club, per the report, and will become the second American to join the Rossoneri after Christian Pulisic. It’s believed that he will play in the No.6 role, but there have been conflicting reports on that matter.

Milan should now turn their attention to the left-back position as Fode Ballo-Toure’s exit is imminent. Basel’s Riccardo Calafiori, formerly of Roma, is reportedly the first choice target and it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached.

  1. I must say that our new management took me by surprise. I saw nothing like this coming after the firing of M & M and the selling of Tonali.

  2. what a difference 6 weeks makes, this is why people shouldn’t doompost before the transfer market even started and post on July 1st how slow we are and we should’ve signed 10 players by now lul

  3. Well it was naive to expect they don’t invest. Only question is how is going to invest.
If we compare Maldini last mercato and this one you can see 1 difference. It is always better to spread money on couple of arrivals than to spend everything on only 1 player. Red Bird management did good job. They sell Tonali, because for him they received the offer, and for that money, 3 players at least ( Reijnders, Pulisic, Ruben Loftus).
To compare that, we can say Tonali was Milan icon, but statistically he did not make the difference on the pitch like Pirlo. Or in attack like Messi or Ronaldinho. So his sale was excellent guess. Reijnders and Ruben Loftus are 2 players who can reach same statistic together like Tonali alone, and Pulisic only needs to have statistics same as Diaz last year, so you have covered everything.
I hope next step in Milan evolution is gaining more revenue, and bringing more quality players than Ruben Loftus and Pulisic in next couple of years….

    1. I agreed with the first part until you got to stats..

“Reijnders and Ruben Loftus are 2 players who can reach same statistic together like Tonali alone” ……except that they didn’t last year in terms of offensive output. Matter of fact all three (rlc, deers and Puli) together barely covers Tonali output last year smh 🤦‍♂️
The biggest benefit was having 3 players instead of one. And they’re all different to each other and Tonali

  4. He is going to be the youngest player with a guaranteed spot in the main team when he comes, 3rd youngest if Simic and Romero stay.

  5. A versatile midfielder who can easily play as a DM, if you seen him play for the national team. Glad to see the transfer finalized. While I wasn’t happy with Tonali leaving, there was a point.

  6. In my point of view Milan is back step by step and nothing stopping this process, Developing is continuing. Ac Milan need a two years to reach top levels and creat competitive environments in Milan to make high level of quality not quantity. If Milan keep developing processes in future success is imminent.

  8. he had one of the worst average ratings for midfielders in la liga last season, i hope i’m wrong but we should’ve invested in a pure DM instead.

i don’t wanna be negative but i really think he might be this transfer window’s first big mistake by the new management.
