“He’s training alone” – Romano offers update as Gimenez joins Milan’s exclusion list

Santiago Gimenez will leave AC Milan this summer and he now seems to have joined the ‘exclusion list’, it seems.

This summer, Gimenez has seemed more open to leaving Milan than he did 12 months ago and there has been no change in the club’s preference. Indeed, they remain keen to part ways, but there hasn’t been as much interest, unfortunately.

Porto have come closest and they have agreed personal terms with the striker. However, no deal has been agreed with the Rossoneri yet, despite it seeming like it had.

So, with his future effectively confirmed, it appears that he has joined the unofficial exclusion list at Milan.

Gimenez trains alone

According to Fabrizio Romano this afternoon, he is training by himself, despite being fully fit. In other words, he’s not training with the group for transfer reasons, which is what the transfer specialist effectively states.

“Santi Giménez has no injury or fitness issues; he’s training alone as talks with FC Porto continue. The Mexican striker, expected to leave AC Milan soon with negotiations underway to try reach an agreement club to club shortly.

“Giménez said yes to Porto, fit and ready.”

It’s never nice to see this be the case, but if all parties are in agreement on the future, it doesn’t make sense to include him in the tactical and team work this summer.

  1. Of course it would make sense.
On the one hand it is a stupid move in case he has to stay and Ramos can’t play for what ever reason.
And on the other hand it’s just a simple a####e move to exclude anyone from training even if he wil likely leave.

    1. I’m with you on all counts there – unless he’s genuinely very close to a move, doesn’t make any sense and massively disrespectful. Especially as we’re the ones who have supposedly said no to Porto.

      1. To me it’s more disrespectful to get signed for 32mil injure Jashari in training be out injured yourself for half the time and score zero goals all season…
