Leon Goretzka is AC Milan’s top target in midfield for the summer mercato and it seems like the German could be heading to Italy.
In recent months, Goretzka has only grown in appreciation around Milan. He was targeted in January, but the German opted to remain with Bayern Munich until the end of his contract. Considering they may still win the Champions League, it was probably a smart decision!
When he does choose to leave the Bavarian giants, there will be plenty of interest and the Rossoneri have been making an effort since the free agent mercato opened in February.
Confidence at Casa Milan has only been growing since and the Rossoneri will hope to see the 31-year-old arrive ahead of next season.
Goretzka heading to Italy?
Speaking in his WhatsApp channel, Fabrizio Romano revealed the latest information about the midfielder’s future and the Diavolo may start getting excited, as MilanNews relays.
“Leon Goretzka has made Italy his target, with Milan insisting after calls from Juventus and Napoli in recent months, but the costs, including commissions and salary, remain high.
“There are also foreign clubs interested, the race is still open, with Goretzka hoping to be able to decide before the World Cup. Contacts will continue soon with all the clubs to evaluate the options, projects, and costs.”

Not crazy on him but he’s better than a lot of the mids we have. I was hoping for someone like Ederson or Thuram – younger, w/ league experience.
Of course as I said that, Goretzka scored a brace for Bayern today… Mids that score, right?
Hence the hefty commission(s), cause and effect.
Maignan (Torriani, Terracciano)- De Winter (Tomori), GILA (Gabbia), Pavlovic (AKE)- ??? (Alexis, Athekame), GORETZKA (Fofana, Musah/Bondo), Modric (FAGIOLI), Rabiot (Ardon, Zerol), GRIMALDO (Bartesaghi)- Pulisic (CHIESA/ZIRKZEE), LEWANDOWSKI/RAMOS/VLAHOVIC (SORLOTH, Camarda);
Goretzka (Ricci) sell Fofana, Musah, Bondo, Nkunku & Gimenez, either overprice or overrated
Keep Fofana at all cost, sell Odogu, Estupinan,
