A move for Rasmus Hojlund seems to be looking more likely this summer, with AC Milan beginning to make the official steps.
Dusan Vlahovic had been the leading idea for Milan for a while this summer; however, the tide seems to be turning. There have often been suggestions that the club would have to wait until the end of August, and that may still be the case.

Though it could also be a motivator to move to another option, and this seems to be the case. So, a move for Hojlund, which seems easier on paper, could be the preferred idea as nothing is really moving with Vlahovic.
For what it is worth, the Dane is now becoming more open to a move, and Massimiliano Allegri could get involved shortly.
Romano’s update
Yesterday evening, mercato expert Fabrizio Romano spoke about the interest and how things are moving along, as MilanNews relays.
“The Rasmus Hojlund case remains unresolved. There was direct contact today: I understand there was a meeting between Milan and Hojlund’s agents. Things are starting to get going.
“What does this meeting mean? On the player side, a door is starting to open in a significant way. I want to clarify something that is important in this matter: Hojlund never turned down Milan; he never said no to Milan.
“Hojlund said: “I want to stay at United.” Manchester United was his dream, and he managed to get there, probably too early in his career, under a lot of pressure and a difficult situation through no fault of his own. But Hojlund has this desire to do well in Manchester, and he wants to fight for the Manchester United shirt until the very end. But he didn’t say no to Milan; he wanted to fight for Manchester United until the very end. And he intends to do so in the coming days, too.
“I don’t see it happening today, tomorrow, or right now. Hojlund wants a little more time, but he’s starting to open a door at Milan. Contacts with the agents mean starting. Discussing numbers. AC Milan have been talking to intermediaries on the club side for days: €6 million loan, €45 million option to buy, with AC Milan trying to lower it a bit.
“Let’s say these are the figures. But on the player side, there’s still work to be done on the contract, salary, and everything else. Let’s see how it goes.”
Some reports this deal is v close. We probably want 4mn loan, United 6mn, we meet in the middle.
Option to buy we want 35mn and United 45mn, again we prob meet in the middle.

Once a striker looses confidence of the crowds and of himself as it seems. Being so young and not hungry to revive your career is depressing in it’s own right.
Going into the first game of the season and we don’t have a striker….plus trying to offload the backups (Okafor and Salad) to our wingers aka best players . So mixed bag for transfers imo
Milan isn’t trying to offload Saelemakers in fact it seems we are trying to renew his contract until 2030. Chuckwueze is the player who doesn’t have a place within Allegris tactics.
Really? I sure hope so. I think Salad has improved massively since Roma and I think he can have a major say this season. Also, it’s good to watch a player develop over time and has the badge in mind
Its at least what has been reported recently as Aston Villa apparently showed interest in him and Roma also wanted to keep him but Milan and Allegri wanted to keep him as well as he would be a valuable player for him so Saelemakers seems to be interested in staying. He definitely had a great season with Roma no question there but personally I’ve always been happy with him as he always works his socks off and in my view also is a fairly technical gifted and versatile player.
Obviously if some crazy offer arrives that may sway the management but it seems highly likely at present that he will stay for now as things stands.
I guess Gimenez is a goalkeeper.

This opinion by Romano is ridiculous. Milan come knocking. The player says “I want to stay at ManU.” Yes, that’s saying no to Milan! Who do you think you’re fooling, Romano? Sure, maybe the player will change his mind after various talks with ManU’s head coach and the club’s leadership who have repeatedly told him that he is not in their plans, is at least 4th in the pecking order therefore won’t get minutes, and must leave. So he’s now “more open to Milan.” No, he’s just being pushed out of ManU and definitely has been saying for weeks that he doesn’t want to come to Milan; that’s pretty clear. Now he’s just running out of options but is STILL hesitating. And now his “openness” is tainted with demands: reportedly he wants Milan to agree to an obligation to buy while that’s not what Milan want; he’s a high flop risk, Camarda will come back in 1 year so Milan want an option to buy with no obligation.
Just compare that with Jashari’s attitude.
1) Hojlund is not a great striker. Everybody who knows him well talks of technical shortcomings.
2) According to the English press he’s not liked by his peers, among other things for having little work ethics and not trying his best in training, and for having locker room issues.
3) He has no respect for the Milan jersey and history and clearly doesn’t want to play for us unless it’s his last option and even so, he wants the club to curb to his unreasonable demands.
These are huge red flags. I very much hope that Milan will drop this guy and look at alternatives, either hiring someone else or using internal solutions like Okafor or Rafa as CF in case Santi gets injured. Yes, I’d love to see more depth in the CF position but not as a desperate move to sign a player with technical limitations, behavioral issues, and who is not enthusiastic about playing for Milan like Modric, Ricci, Jashari, Estupinan and Akhetame are (and Santi Gimenez himself).
Even if an alternative would be less good, I’d rather have a less good deputy for Santi than one slightly less bad but who doesn’t want to play for us. We’re not his first choice, unlike Jashari. The supporters will love Jashari and will hate Hojlund if he comes and flops. Mark my words!
We don’t need another Joao Felix who is an EPL reject loaned to us and correctly sent back to the sender. At least there was no obligation to buy Felix, thankfully. Hojlund with an obligation to buy??? Thanks but no, thanks!
