Romano: Szoboszlai’s decision will arrive ‘by the next week’ with Milan and Arsenal ‘in contact’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are Arsenal are still in the race to land Dominik Szoboszlai, according to Fabrizio Romano, but RB Leipzig remain on pole.

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein (via RouteOneFootball) claimed earlier this week that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are the team who are currently leading the chase to land the 20-year-old Hungarian, but he added that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are also keen, as are Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham as well as Milan.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) then reported this morning that Milan do not want to be caught unprepared if Calhanoglu leaves, and for that reason dialogue with the entourage of Szoboszlai is ongoing.

The 20-year-old has many admirers around Europe, they added, but seems to favour a move to join Milan.

According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano however, Leipzig are still the team that must be overcome to land Szoboszlai, though Arsenal are also in talks.

“We will have Szoboszlai’s decision by the next week. Leipzig would be the easiest solution because they are in the same family with Redbull,” he said (via RouteOneFootball).

“Milan are always in contact. Arsenal have also been in contact for many years. He wants to be a starter. He doesn’t want to go to a team and not play. He will only go wherever he can start always.”
