Romano: Udinese star ‘keen on move’ but Milan must sell before bidding

Udinese’s star Lazar Samardzic is ‘keen on’ joining AC Milan this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, as positive talks have been held in recent days. However, the Rossoneri must offload one of their midfielders first.

Milan have been heavily linked with the Serbian international in the last few days, with the interest also confirmed by Gazzetta dello Sport. However, given that there have been few departures so far, it’s clear the Rossoneri need to make the space for the signing.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano late last night, Samardzic is ‘keen on’ joining Milan this summer after direct talks between the parties earlier this week. The Rossoneri are now expected to sit down with Udinese next week to discuss the price tag of a potential transfer.

Before then, as the journalist concludes, Milan will have to offload at least one midfielder and the main culprits are Yacine Adli as well as Tommaso Pobega. These two are not in the plans of Paulo Fonseca and could fetch some cash.

Being a No.10, Samardzic would likely be the new starter in that role, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek taking a step down to where he started his Milan tenure. There should be more updates next week.
